Lady Gaga and Kanye West invest in music website

Lady Gaga and Kanye West are helping to boost the profile of online music service Turntable.fm by investing in the new website.

The hitmakers have joined forces with a group of other investors, led by Union Square Ventures, to provide $7.5 million in funding for the fledgling social networking site, which allows users to chat to one another and share music, reports trade paper Business Insider.

Turntable.fm users require an invite from an existing account holder to join the growing community.
