Xzibit's father has leg amputated

Rapper Xzibit dashed to his father's hospital bedside in New Mexico on Sunday (22Jan12) after he had to have a leg amputated due to illness.

The hip-hop star, real name Alvin Joiner, revealed his dad's health troubles in a post on Twitter.com as he waited to board a flight from Texas to his childhood hometown of Albuquerque.

He tweeted, "Stuck at the San Antonio airport on my way to Albuquerque. My dad had a leg amputated due to his struggle with diabetes. praying."
